Finally put my little crochet bag up for sale on Folksy. You can find it here
It's a really versatile handy little bag - the sun may not have made much of an appearance yet... so why not carry some springtime sunshine around with you with this slung over your shoulder!

Fiddly
I've been doing a bit of sewing practice today. This is my 1st attempt at a little coin purse. I wanted to make it small but this turned out even smaller than expected! I'm quite pleased with it as a first attempt. Bits of it are a little wiggly and wonky but as they say that just adds character! It was quite fiddly to make, but now that I know the steps and technique hopefully attempt no 2 will be a bit better.

Sneaky peek
Here's a sneaky peek at my latest creation, another little crochet bag. Used my new sewing machine for the first time sewing the lining and inside pocket (all a little trickier than I remember!) and... my new machine is exactly the same colour - lovely lilac :)
Better pictures will follow soon...if there is ever a dry minute to take some decent photos outside!

Some more pattern designs
This time I have been playing around with sweet peas. The bottom image shows the original colours which give a bright fun spring feel to the design. However I much prefer the other two colour combinations. Experimenting with different colour palettes has given the design a much more vintage and sophisticated feel.

Sewing machine inspiration...
Looking at sewing machines the other day inspired me to put a little etsy treasury together.
I just love the old machines - in fact I love the whole retro, vintage era of the 1920s - 1980s. Particularly home / lifestyle product design, well... for that matter illustration and graphic design too! Have a real love of the old transport and travel posters, but that's a whole other post...

Sewing
I have recently been paid for my last job and thinking of treating myself to a simple sewing machine. Not looking for anything too fancy just a basic beginners machine. Hoping to branch out and make some crafty items, but would also be great to be able to make some clothes alterations. I can never find dresses that fit - being a tiny person knee length is always more like mid shin length!
Any suggestions of good value but reliable machines to buy would be most welcome :) Have found some beautiful vintage specimens online but somehow think they may not be the most practical!
